David has 28 years of martial arts experience under his belt. He started training in Wado Ryu Karate at the age of 5 years old and teaching at the age of 12 under his Dad and 4th degree Karate Black Belt Joe Tobin. He went on to train as an amateur boxer and kickboxer in his teenage years. When he reached the age of 24 he realized there was something missing in his training. He stumbled across a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club ran by Marc Walder and the rest is history.
David truly fell in love with the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and today he passes his passion on to his students at GB havering. He received his black belt in 2014 from world renown BJJ legend Braulio Estima and continues to compete under his tutelage. He welcomes everyone at the academy to train regardless of age or ability.
